Ms Iris Jones

is a native of Vicksburg, Mississippi. She completed her education at Copiah Lincoln Community College with over 9 years of experience in hair care as a Licensed Cosmetologist.

Natural hair has been her specialty throughout her years of servicing clients in Mississippi. Iris has also curated natural products that are infused with some of the best oils and butters that have sold all over Mississippi and the US. Iris understands that confidence is lacking in the natural hair community due to texturism and hopes to end that by continuing to inspire and teach women how to love and embrace their God given strands.

Iris has been a Sales Operations Specialist for over 6 years. She enjoys spending time with family, sharing the goodness of God with friends, making healthier decisions, and outside enjoying nature. Her hobbies include exercising, dancing to different genres of music, painting, wreath designing, jewelry making, graphic designing, and supporting small businesses in the community.

Javonda Stanton Bio Pic 1.jpg

Mrs. Javonda Stanton

is a proud daughter of the City of Jackson. Javonda Stanton is married to Assistant Chief Eric Stanton of Jackson State University’s Department of Public Safety, and their blended family has blessed them with four beautiful children.

Javonda’s true passion lies in advocacy for all disenfranchised populations. For the past 15 1/2 years, she has served as a liaison for domestic violence and sexual assault survivors across the state, and she is a champion for the homeless, as well as those battling mental health challenges. Her life’s adversities have fortified her and yielded a keen sense of empathy.

Javonda’s testimonies are cornerstones of her service model and precisely why she is committed to standing in the gaps for those in need.  She is motivated to be the type of advocate she’s both needed and has had. Inspired by the words of the great Nelson Mandela, “It always seems impossible until it's done,” Javonda wakes up each day knowing that forward is the only way to go, and there is more that connects humanity than divides us.

Javonda studied at Jackson State University, earning both her Bachelor's in Mass Communications and Master's in Sociology, and is a 2022-2023 graduate of the MS Black Leadership Institute.

Her career path has enabled her to work passionately in the non-profit sector, serving the homeless across the state. She is currently the Director of Stewpot’s Opportunity Center, the largest and longest-operating day shelter and resource hub for the homeless in the city of Jackson.
